CANYON//SRAM Generation raced its second of three one-day races this weekend at ZLM Omloop der Kempen Ladies in Veldhoven, the Netherlands. Make van der Duin powered to third place in the bunch sprint won by Charlotte Kool (DSM).

Maike said, “I’m happy to get the podium. I didn’t have the best race yesterday and messed up the sprint, so it was nice to improve on that today! I went through the final corner in sixth place. I started my sprint early and was hoping it would force the others to go early too, but they waited and had a run on me in the final metres. After some time off racing, I already felt better today than yesterday. We aim to win, but I can be satisfied with the third place for today.”

CANYON//SRAM Generation will race again tomorrow at Antwerp Port Epic Ladies with a roster of: Agua Marina Espinola Salinas, Nesrine Houili, Diane Ingabire, Dani Schmidsberger and Llori Sharpe. The 122km race starts at 10:30CEST and can be followed on Twitter with #AntwerpPortEpic.
