Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka Poland

Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka took a two year hiatus from the WorldTour in 2021 and 2022, opting to race for a UCI team in her home country of Poland. A seasoned professional, Agnieszka had already demonstrated her potential early in her career, earning a bronze medal at the 2015 Junior Road World Championships. That step back, however, proved to be a crucial career circuit breaker, allowing her to recalibrate and return even stronger.

In 2022, this refined approach led to a stellar season. Agnieszka claimed the overall victory in four stage races, secured a national time trial title, and earned multiple podium finishes. Her scintillating form was impossible to ignore, and she ultimately signed with CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto for the 2023 season.

“After returning to Poland to live for two years, a lot changed in my career. I regained confidence in myself that I could win. I changed my coach and my season preparations. I prepared for the road season with cross-country races which has improved my skills in the peloton and in technical moments.”

Since joining CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto, Agnieszka has established herself as a powerful, versatile, and dependable teammate, consistently contributing to the team’s successes while also fearlessly chasing her own. Agnieszka’s growing palmares includes a sprint classification win at the UAE Tour Women, seventh place at the 2023 UCI Time Trial World Championships, and twelfth place at the Paris Olympic Time Trial. She has also been part of two Tour de France Femmes Avec Zwift teams that podiumed in the general classification, experiencing firsthand both the yellow and polka dot jerseys.

Looking ahead, Agnieszka has set her own sights on the podium in major stage races, with aspirations for even greater achievements. “My small dream is to stand on the podium of a stage at the Giro or the Tour de France Femmes Avec Zwift,” she says.

Off the bike, Agnieszka has been studying within the field of Physical Education and, alongside her family, has established a small cycling academy for children, sharing her passion for the sport with the next generation.
