Pauline wins in Snowshoe

We finished a successful weekend of racing with Pauline Ferrand-Prévot today taking the win in the final XCO World Cup of the 2019 season in Snowshoe, USA.

Pauline who became the Women Elite XCO World Championship one week ago, put the coveted rainbow jersey on the podium on Friday with a second place in the Short Track World Cup, and then again today with her win in the XCO World Cup win.

“I’m just feeling so happy!” said an elated Pauline after the finish.

“The lap was super fast and there were several of us who tried to get away. When Anne (Terpstra) did the final attack I thought I was forced to be racing for second. But I didn’t give up and I kept fighting. I could come back to her and then we had a sprint finish. I won! It’s so incredible to win in this jersey, I can’t describe it!” said Pauline.

The win yesterday was her second XCO World Cup win for 2019, adding to a Short Track World Cup win, and meant that the new XCO World Champion finishes third in the overall XCO World Cup ranking, adding to an astonishing 2019 season for the Frenchwoman.

“I didn’t imagine that I could have such a good season. From surgery in January, time off the bike, coming back to training and getting back into to shape. I’m really proud of my season and everyone that has helped me,” added Pauline.
