CANYON//SRAM Racing unveils new jersey and bike design at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift
To celebrate the long-awaited and emphatic return of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift to the women’s calendar and the team’s success in last year’s edition, CANYON//SRAM Racing unveils a clothing and equipment collection designed exclusively for this year’s race. The team will use the special edition artwork across Canyon clothing, Giro helmets, Elite bottles and Canyon Aeroad and Ultimate bikes equipped with SRAM.
The team’s roster of Ricarda Bauernfeind, Elise Chabbey, Kasia Niewiadoma, Soraya Paladin, Sarah Roy, Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka and Alice Towers will use the new design throughout the eight-day tour from July 23 to 30.
The artwork is striking and distinctive, synonymous with CANYON//SRAM Racing designs since its inception. The new design by Ultan Coyle, Canyon Global Creative Director, uses elements of Zwift’s visuals, from colour, colour blocking and graphics, to create a lively design that synchronises with the vision at CANYON//SRAM Racing—we make women’s cycling exciting and inspire women to reach for the stars! It uses certain aspects of the well-known Astral Burn team jersey, capturing the chaos of the elements to focus the team’s energy on the start line. The bold pink with orange colours are a nod to Zwift’s #WatchTheFemmes campaign, a call to action supporting parity, participation and empowerment.
Ronny Lauke, Team Manager, says, “From the beginning of CANYON//SRAM Racing, we’ve been fortunate to have had partners willing to combine talent and forces to collaborate on various projects. From the outset, our team has aimed to make women’s cycling more visible. Together with our team’s main partners, Canyon, SRAM, and Zwift, we want to celebrate the 2023 Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift using a new design. The special edition artwork designed by Canyon that we’ll use on our clothing, helmets, bottles and bikes at this year’s race is another example of our partners investing in our team towards a shared ambition.
The design is highly recognisable thanks to Canyon, SRAM, Zwift, Giro and Elite and will stand out. But we also hope it raises attention to all of our partners that have invested in our team since the beginning, shown commitment to women’s cycling, and want to see the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift be an everlasting global event. We hope it encourages the fans on the side of the road and those watching the broadcast to cheer ‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ and contributes to raising awareness of women’s cycling.”
Soraya Paladin says, “It’s a cool new design, and we will have a lot of style in the peloton, especially with the ‘Allez, Allez, Allez’ on the back of the jersey. It will bring a lot of attention to our team! Wearing the colours of Zwift, with our Canyon and SRAM logos, shows our gratitude to each brand for their effort into the team and for women’s cycling overall. When Canyon makes a special edition change for us as riders, it definitely gives us a special feeling and makes us proud to have team partners like that. The best thing will be to win in this design, to thank everyone and every partner for their hard work!”
CANYON//SRAM Racing will use the special edition artwork across its range of Canyon performance clothing, the Canyon Aeroad WMN CFR Disc with SRAM RED eTap AXS, the Canyon Ultimate WMN SL CFX Disc with SRAM RED eTap AXS, Giro Aries and Eclipse helmets and Elite Fly Bottles, and it will wear Oakley’s Tour de France collection sunglasses.
Kate Veronneau, Director of Women’s Strategy at Zwift, says, “Zwift joined the Tour de France Femmes as title sponsor in 2022 as an extension of our commitment to elevate women’s cycling. We were so proud to see how quickly the stature and prominence of women’s cycling grew in 2022, thanks to an enormous global audience. This year’s race will be even bigger, and we’re excited to help celebrate this moment in women’s sport with this distinctive kit that evokes the joy and excitement of the Tour de France Femmes – one that will stand out on TV screens!”
Cyclists can earn the kit for their avatar to wear on the roads of Zwift by joining one of the CANYON//SRAM Watch the Femmes rides between 23 to 31 July.
