La Fléche Wallonne

The latest round of the UCI Women’s WorldTour (WWT) was in Huy, Belgium and it was the first time this year the peloton raced in warm and sunny conditions for a WWT race.
With the hard climbs coming towards the end of the 118km race, CANYON//SRAM Racing led the peloton to close a one minute gap to a 5-rider breakaway as the race entered the finishing circuit. An attack from Pauline Ferrand-Prévot created an elite front group and from there a four-rider move went clear for the first time up the Mur de Huy, including Ferrand-Prévot.

After 30km away, the quartet was caught at the start of the second and final ascent of the Mur de Huy. Anna van der Breggen (DLT) went on for her fourth consecutive win of the La Fléche Wallonne, with Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (CBT) and Megan Guarnier (DLT) rounding the podium. CANYON//SRAM Racing’s best placed rider was Kasia Niewiadoma in 21st with Alena Amialiusik and Ferrand-Prévot in 23rd and 24th respectively.
