LIVE BROADCAST FOR THE FIRST TIME AT THE WOMEN'S TOUR

CANYON//SRAM Racing’s roster for the Women’s Tour will be Alice Barnes, Shari Bossuyt, Elise Chabbey, Tiffany Cromwell, Mikayla Harvey and Kasia Niewiadoma. For the first time in its seven-year history, the six-day Women’s World Tour race will have a live broadcast of every stage.

What does stay the same for the Women’s Tour is its parcours. Undulating courses from England to Wales and a host of bonus seconds are expected to create a close battle for the general classification.

Several stages are well-suited to the sprinters and all-rounders of the peloton. The mid-stages see the climbs reach up to 7% or even 8% but they are rarely more than 1km in length. For certain, the battle for the final classifications across all of the jerseys will be an exciting one that fans can enjoy from their screens and roadside.

“I love racing the Women’s Tour. I love the crowds that come out. Especially during the week when schools are along the streets cheering for us. I am looking forward to this year as we have a big variation in stages which will make the racing interesting,” says Alice who won the Best British Rider here in 2021.

“I think RideLondon Classique last week has given me good race speed. I built confidence in my patience in the final which was an important point for our team. I hope to work on that to be ready for the last kilometres,” adds Alice.

The queen stage five, with its 5.5km-long ascent to a summit finish to Black Mountain, is tipped by many to decide the overall classification, but it might be stage 4, or the climbs on stage 5 before hitting the final climb that has a much bigger impact. Both Kasia and Elise have won the Mountain Classification at the Women’s Tour, in 2019 and 2021 respectively. Kasia has the general classification (GC) in 2017 and the second place in 2019 also on her palmares.

“My goal is to win a stage and fight for the best place in GC! Of course, I will adapt it to the team’s needs but I would like to feel some pressure for the performance during the race,” explains Kasia.
