It was another tough stage of Vuelta Ciclista Andalucia Ruta del Sol on today’s third stage into Álora. Agua Marina Espinola Salinas was the team’s best-placed rider, finishing in 17th place. The stage was won by Marta Romeu Solaz, just ahead of the GC leader Tamara Dronova.

RIDER REACTIONS

Daniela Schmidsberger: “The pace on today’s stage was quite high from the beginning. The first climb reduced the peloton to about half the size. After, there were a lot of attacks. Agua managed to go into the breakaway. Unfortunately, she was caught before the finish line, but overall it was a good stage for our team.”

“Of course, I feel tired, but I’m really happy to finally perform on the level I expected myself to be on this year. Tomorrow, we hope to set up Agua into the breakaway so she can improve her position in the general classification. We have two stages to go!”
