NEVE WINS U23 ROAD TITLE AT NATIONALS
Neve Bradbury topped off a strong week of racing by winning the U23 road championship title at today’s Australian National Championships in Buninyong, Victoria. The gold medal came on the back of two bronze medals in the ITT and criterium races earlier in the week.
Neve said, “I’ve been second the last two times I’ve raced the road nationals, so I wanted to do one better and win. It’s a nice confidence boost going into the Tour Down Under.”
“I tried to attack in the final kilometres because I didn’t want to come to the line in a sprint. I needed to come with more speed. I’m happy I gave it my all, even if the attack didn’t work out.”
“Last year, I wasn’t racing until mid-February. I’m definitely fitter for this time of the year and I have different goals.”
Neve will now travel to Adelaide to join the team for the Tour Down Under, 12-14 January, for the first World Tour race of the season.
