A STRONG SQUAD FOR TOUR DE ROMANDIE

CANYON//SRAM Racing is heading to the next stop on the Women’s World Tour calendar, Tour de Romandie Féminin, with Soraya Paladin, Chloé Dygert, Neve Bradbury, Elise Chabbey, Antonia Niedermaier and Tiffany Cromwell, starting September 6.

A relatively new event that often showcases stunning Swiss roads and scenery, Tour de Romandie was inaugurated in 2022 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the men’s race. As the name suggests, it is held within Romandie, the French-speaking area of Switzerland and the home region of Geneva local Elise.

This year’s route follows a similar format to the previous two editions, with the three stages consisting of a lumpy opening day, a decisive summit finish and a long, hilly finale. Despite her extensive experience, it is a race that Tiffany has not yet participated in, but the savvy road captain clearly knows what to expect.

“Looking at the profiles, it favours the climbers, and I think we have a strong team for that, especially with the hard and longer climb on the stage two finish. This is where the GC will be made. The stages can also favour opportunistic racing as you have a bit of everything over all three stages, which suits our squad. We have a strong team to target stage wins and the overall”.

After recently wearing the CANYON//SRAM colours within the off-road scene, most notably finishing in third place at the UCI Houffa Gravel in Belgium, Tiffany is looking forward to once again racing on skinnier tyres after her last road appearance in June.

“It’ll be nice to go back racing with the team and get some road racing speed in the legs again.”

“I’ll be there to support the team the best I can and get some good hard race intensity into the system as a nice build towards the Gravel Worlds at the start of October, my main goal for the remaining part of the season. It will be good to see how all the work I’ve been doing in training the last two months is going.”

Antonia rejoins the team after her Olympic debut and a productive period of home training. She hopes to build upon her impressive general classification performances at the Tour de Suisse Women and the Giro d’Italia Women.

“In Romandie, I aim to perform exceptionally well and strive for great results. I believe we have a formidable team for this event and can reach something big together.”

With a roster that also includes the in-form Chloé Dygert, who narrowly placed second at the recent Classic Lorient Agglomération – Trophée Ceratizit, and Neve Bradbury, who achieved four World Tour general classification podiums in 2024, CANYON//SRAM Racing will have strength in numbers on the roads of Romandie.

The climbing-heavy stages will be valuable preparation for the UCI World Road Cycling Championships, being held on similar terrain in Zürich at the end of September, where many CANYON//SRAM riders are set to compete.
