TIFFANY THIRD AT BOLERO HOUFFA GRAVEL
Tiffany Cromwell showcased her versatility and grit by finishing third at today’s Houffa Gravel race. The UCI World Gravel Series tested competitors with ever-changing and unpredictable terrain. Cromwell, who returned to racing following a short break, navigated the course with determination and skill to take a podium place.
Cromwell stayed in the leading group for most of the 110km course, losing contact with the leaders only in the final and holding the gap at around one minute in the closing kilometres.
The CANYON//SRAM Racing rider secured a well-deserved spot on the podium, again a testament to her adaptability and strength across various cycling disciplines.
RIDER REACTIONS
“It was a shock to the system to be back racing. I had forgotten how hard gravel racing is! We started with the Saint Roch climb from Liége, which was a brutal course. There were some very sketchy moments going through all the age groups on single-track sections. I went over the climb in the top two and entered the first gravel sector in a good position with Kasper and Frain. I went over my limit and needed a moment to reset there, so I dropped from them after a few kilometres. I was caught by a group behind, but eventually, I went clear of that group on one of the technical décents. I passed some more age-group riders and then spent the rest of the race alone. I held a one-minute gap to the leaders for a long time, but I blew up towards the end.”
