Tiffany 12th in Brabantse Pijl
Tiffany Cromwell was our team’s best-placed rider in today’s Brabantse Pijl in Overijse, Belgium finishing in twelfth place. The race was won by a solo attack from Grace Brown (MTS), with Tiffany finishing in a small group that was sprinting for fourth place.
Tiffany Cromwell: “It was a solid day out! I had jumped across to the leaders but at that moment, Grace Brown had just gone away. I tried to continue and get across to her but she’s just too strong at the moment and I ended up getting caught by the others again.”
“Overall it was good. I felt strong and could react to the other strong attacks, even on the climbs. It was nice to race at the front and to be the leader. Of course you want more but I used up a bit too much gas in the second last lap and paid for it in the final 10-15km.”
Tiffany’s teammate, Alice Barnes said “It was a tough race from the start with a lot of climbs. The wind didn’t play as much of a part as we thought it might and with a climb to the finish we decided it was a better finish for Tiff with the form she has. Is wasn’t possible to save much for the final as on the last laps there were a lot of moves to chase or cover.”
