Wilma Aintila Finland
Emerging Finnish cycling talent Wilma Aintila, hailing from Kirkkonummi on Finland’s southern coast, is with CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto through to the end of 2026.
Wilma discovered her passion for cycling at an early age, influenced by her father’s involvement with the Finnish Cycling Federation. Growing up, cycling was a family activity, so she began riding at the age of ten, quickly discovering she had a natural talent for the sport. However, with cycling not being particularly prominent in Finland, Wilma opted to move abroad at 14 to pursue racing.
After entering the elite peloton in 2023, Wilma has gained valuable experience and consistently improved her results, steadily building a reputation as a versatile rider capable of performing across a variety of terrains. In 2024, she won the U23 Time Trial title at the Finnish National Championships, placed second in the elite road race, and finished fifth in the Youth Classification at the Baloise Ladies Tour – very promising signs of things to come.
Upon joining CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto at the beginning of 2025, Wilma recognised that the environment and resources would greatly support her continued development as a rider. She explained:
“To reach the top, everything in the background needs to be in place, and CANYON//SRAM provides the perfect setup for that.”
With each season that comes, she particularly looks forward to the spring race days, where the terrain is flatter and the weather can be more challenging. Her major aspiration is to one day stand on the podium at a spring classic, such as Paris-Roubaix.
Off the bike, Wilma enjoys being out in nature or doing yoga. She currently lives in Falun, Sweden, where the endless gravel roads are her favourite training terrain.
