Team Time Trial opening stage at the Giro Rosa
CANYON//SRAM Racing have finished fifth on the opening stage of the Giro Rosa.
The 11.5km team time trial in the Friuili-Venezia Giulia region of north-west Italy was won by Boels Dolman with a time of 14 minutes 47 seconds.
CANYON//SRAM Racing took to the hot seat when they finished with an average speed just under 45km/hour, but with seven teams still to finish the squad could not hold the fastest time.
The maglia rosa for stage two will be worn by Karol-Ann Canuel (DLT), with Hannah Barnes (+36 seconds) the best placed CANYON//SRAM rider on the general classification.
Stage two, 122km from Zoppola to Montereale Valcellina starts at 12:15 CEST tomorrow.
