SHARI LEADS THE YOUTH CLASSIFICATION

Shari Bossuyt claimed fourth place in today’s opening stage of Tour de Normandie Féminin in Bagnoles-de-l’Orne, France. With it, Shari takes the lead in the youth classification.

It was an aggressive race with many attacks, including from Agnieszka Skalniak-Sójka and Alice Towers in the final local circuits. Sarah Roy and Alice were caught in crashes as the peloton approached the bunch sprint. They finished the race but will undergo further medical assessments.

Shari says, “We had Aga in the front group in the final kilometres. My focus was staying in position at the front of the peloton if it came together, so I was ready for the sprint. It was a hectic, fast downhill to the finish, and I started my sprint from a poor position. In the end, I was 4th. I’m happy with the feeling I had in the race today, and I hope my teammates are okay after the crashes.”

Shari leads the youth classification and is at the same time as the second-placed rider. She is the team’s best-placed rider on GC in sixth.
