TOP 10 FOR SHARI IN STAGE 2 OF TOUR DE NORMANDIE
The team was down two riders at the start of stage two of Tour de Normandie today when Alice Towers and Sarah Roy abandoned the race due to injuries from yesterday’s crashes. The 103km undulating stage from Le Have to Flamanville had many attacks but nothing went away until the final hour of racing.
One lone rider was given close to one minute as the peloton hit the three local laps but was caught before the penultimate lap. With less than 5km remaining, Cédrine Kerbaol (WNT) went clear and crossed the line for a solo victory, 15 seconds ahead of the peloton. Shari Bossuyt was the team’s best-placed rider in 9th.
The final stage is 114.5km from St Pierre en Auge to Caen. Shari is 12th on GC at +12 seconds and moves to 4th in the youth classification. The third stage can be followed on Twitter with #TDN2023. The live broadcast starts at 14:15CET here.
