SWISS RISING STAR BECOMES FIRST NEW SIGNING FOR 2027

CANYON//SRAM is delighted to unveil its first new rider for the 2027 season, with rising Swiss talent Jasmin Liechti set to join the team on a two-year contract.

CANYON//SRAM Business Development Manager Jonas Möslein is thrilled to welcome Jasmin to the team, praising not only her impressive physical capabilities but also the qualities she brings as a person.

Despite her young age, she already has an impressive track record, but what has stood out to us even more is the way that she approaches the sport. Her mentality, humility and character perfectly reflect the team’s DNA, and we can’t wait to see her racing in our jersey.”

Jonas also praised to Jasmin’s current team, Swiss continental outfit NEXETIS, where she has raced since 2025.

“Jasmin has developed exceptionally well within Team NEXETIS, a programme doing outstanding work in nurturing young talent. We sincerely hope that they continue to receive the support they deserve, because teams like NEXETIS are essential to the future of women’s cycling.”

Grateful for the pathway that has brought her here, Jasmin is excited for what now lies ahead.

“After two valuable years with NEXETIS, I feel ready to take the step into the WorldTour, and CANYON//SRAM feels like the perfect environment to do that. It’s a team that I’ve admired for a long time, so I’m thrilled to continue my cycling journey with them. I’m highly motivated to keep progressing, and CANYON//SRAM shares that same mindset. They’ll provide me with everything I need to be the best version of myself, with strong support both on and off the bike, world-class equipment, and a wealth of knowledge and experience.”

A native of Burgdorf, near Bern, Jasmin was originally an accomplished orienteer before discovering cycling during the COVID-19 pandemic. She began racing seriously on both the road and track in 2022 and quickly established herself as one of Switzerland’s brightest young prospects, claiming a podium in the Swiss under-23 time trial championship during her first road season.

Two years later, she transformed that podium into the Swiss U23 time trial title before announcing herself on the world stage in memorable fashion.

“Winning the U23 silver medal in the time trial at the 2024 World Championships in Zurich, on home soil, was definitely a standout moment. It came as a big surprise, which made it even more special.”

Jasmin’s upward trajectory continued throughout 2025, with a commanding solo stage victory at the Volta a Portugal – her first as a professional – paving the way for her maiden overall stage race victory while showcasing both the strength of her engine and her growing tactical nous.

She has carried that momentum seamlessly into 2026, continuing to impress race after race. Highlights have included a podium finish at Clásica de Almería (1.Pro), two UCI one-day wins, the overall title at Gracia Orlová, and a dominant time trial win that propelled her to another overall title at Bretagne Ladies Tour.

Most recently, Jasmin impressed on home roads at the Tour de Suisse, sprinting to a career-best WorldTour result of fifth, and one week later, claiming her first elite Swiss time trial title.

CANYON//SRAM Performance Director Dan Fleeman explains why Jasmin is a strong fit for the team:

“Jasmin combines an exceptional physiological engine with qualities that are becoming increasingly valuable in WorldTour racing. Her profile is built around a very high aerobic capacity, excellent sustained power and strong time trial ability, while her track background has developed her technical skills, pacing and race awareness. She has already shown that she can translate her time trial strength into aggressive road racing, whether through breakaways or finishing strongly from reduced groups after demanding races.

Looking ahead, I see Jasmin contributing across multiple objectives. She has the ability to support GC leaders with strong pacing on rolling terrain, strengthen our time trial options, and increasingly take on leadership opportunities in smaller stage races and one-day events. Her versatility will make her a valuable asset across much of our racing programme.”

For Jasmin, there is one ambition that she is particularly eager to fulfil in the years ahead.

“I would love to start in a Grand Tour and experience what it means to race over multiple consecutive days at that level.”

Alongside her road career, Jasmin has continued to pursue her passion for the track, where her strengths against the clock have also flourished. She has multiple Swiss individual pursuit titles and national records, while regularly representing Switzerland internationally.

Away from competition entirely, Jasmin enjoys the simple yet sweet pleasures of life back home in Switzerland.

“Alongside cycling, I study business administration part-time at the University of Bern. Outside of that, I enjoy playing the piano, spending time with family and friends, and discovering great coffee spots.”
