ANOTHER TOP 10 FOR SORAYA IN GENNEP
Soraya Paladin had another solid performance when she finished tenth after the halfway mark of the Simac Ladies Tour in Gennep, the Netherlands. The stage finished in yet another bunch sprint, with Charlotte Kool (DSM) taking the win. Soraya slips down one position to 8th overall at +27 seconds ahead of tomorrow’s hilly stage.
“It was really nervous and chaotic today, the plan was to protect me and to arrive safely to the finish line without losing time,” said Soraya.
“My teammates did well and were present to cover dangerous moves. I have to admit that I was a bit scared in the sprint. I tried to follow (Rachele) Barbieri as a good wheel. Mostly, I’m happy to cross the line in the top ten, not lose time and be feeling good ahead of the next stage.”
“I think a lot of teams will be aggressive because not everyone wants to wait for the ITT stage to gain seconds in the GC. We expect it will be a hard stage,” added Soraya.
The team goes into the hilly stage 4 with Soraya at 8th in GC.
