Roster for Lotto Belgium Tour
CANYON//SRAM Racing starts its final stage race of the season tomorrow, Tuesday 5 September. The roster for the four-day Lotto Belgium Tour will be Tiffany Cromwell, Barbara Guarischi, Christa Riffel and Leah Thorvilson.
Australian rider, Cromwell previews the tour:
“The stages have your typical Belgium spring classics feel to them, minus the tough spring weather and the amazing spring crowds. Having a scan through the stages, they actually look quite challenging as they take on a number of the tough cobbled sectors or climbs that we often race over during the spring.”
“It starts with a prologue at the Belgium seaside, the same as last year, and then has three road stages around the Flanders region. The final stage again races over the iconic Muur van Geraardsbergen. It will be open and tactical racing. Basically we’re doing a full circle getting ourselves back to the same roads where we started racing this season.”
“My goal is to go out there, have some fun, enjoy racing my bike and utilise the strong form that I have at the moment and finish the season on a high. Our team will be aiming to look for every opportunity for success.”
Lotto Belgium Tour is be the final stage race before world championships for many riders.”For those racing worlds, the tour is a final tune up to test their form and gain that last bit of racing before going to Norway for world championships. It’s a nice race where you can get quality racing without it being too fatiguing to recover from. When people have their mind on another goal, then it allows even more opportunities within the stages for those who are ready and hungry for it,” said Cromwell.
The opening 4km prologue starts tomorrow in Nieuwpoort and can be followed with #LottoBelgiumTour.
