ROSTER FOR RONDE VAN DRENTHE
The Women’s World Tour continues this weekend at Miron Ronde van Drenthe in the Netherlands. CANYON//SRAM Racing’s roster will be Zoe Bäckstedt, Justyna Czapla, Alex Morrice and Alice Towers.
A change to the 158km course from previous editions sees a focus on the VAMberg climb instead of the traditional cobblestone sectors around Drenthe. Starting in Beilen, it’s just eight kilometres before the peloton reaches the first ascent of the short climb, with a further five laps of 29 kilometres to race. Six times up the VAMberg now becomes the main feature of the race.
It’s the first road race of the season for Zoe who returns to racing after a short break following the 2023/2024 cyclo-cross season.
Zoe says, “Off season was great for me! It was really nice to just wind down a little and relax after a pretty hectic but successful cyclo-cross season.”
“I’m excited to get back into racing. It’s a little earlier than expected but I can’t wait to get stuck in and help the my teammates out where I can. The course is different from previous editions with a lot of narrow roads to make it even tougher. We’re looking forward to it!”
