LISA KLEIN TO MISS PARIS-ROUBAIX UNDERGOES SHOULDER SURGERY

Lisa Klein is set to miss Paris-Roubaix Femmes and UCI Track World Championships due to a shoulder injury. Lisa will undergo surgery tomorrow in Germany, to repair a small fracture in her shoulder suffered in a training ride crash.

“I had a small crash but it’s caused a big injury, unfortunately. I’m sad to miss some of the season highlights with Paris-Roubaix and then track worlds. I was thinking I could make it to those races but after some more assessments and discussion with the medical team, we have decided it needs surgery immediately,” says Lisa.

“I’m disappointed to miss Paris-Roubaix! I was so motivated for this race with my teammates. I know they’ll be fighting hard in this race.”

Klein will immediately start her off-season and expects some weeks of rehabilitation is needed before getting back on the bike for her pre-season.

“Rehabilitation should be around two months and I’ll then be able to start back into pre-season training as planned,” explains Lisa.

Team Manager, Ronny Lauke says, ” It’s unfortunate for us as a team to lose a strong teammate like Lisa, but ultimately healthy and recovery are paramount. We are looking ahead to the coming season with a fully recovered rider.”
