Kasia takes second on the stage and leads the QOM jersey
Kasia Niewiadoma finished second on the third stage today of Tour de l’Ardeche.
The first of the mountain stages started in St Sauveur de Montagut, and after 129km and three major climbs, it was Niewiadoma in a group of three riders racing to the finish.
After the race, Niewiadoma praised her teammates.
“It was a hard stage today. I would have been lost if I didn’t have my two angels, Tiff and Alexis with me today,” said Niewiadoma.
“We were having control over most of the stage, but also there were moments where we had to correct something. Ronny (Lauke) as DS was guiding us from the car so we could put our plan into reality.”
“I launched my final attack unfortunately not in the right moment but I wanted to ensure the constellation of the group going to the finish and the bonus seconds,” added Niewiadoma.
Her efforts moves her into the lead in the QOM jersey and also second on the overall classification with another four stages remaining.
