Kasia 6th in Ventura

The opening stage of the Amgen Tour of California empowered with SRAM was in Ventura, the hometown of Alexis Ryan.

The 96.5km stage was won solo by Anna van der Breggen, with Kasia Niewiadoma finishing sixth.

“I’m super disappointed to have some bad luck just before the final climb and lost my chance to fight for victory,” said Kasia after the race.

“We still have two days where we can show our strength.”
