Hannah wins Most Combative rider on stage three
It was a bunch sprint that decided today’s stage three at Boels Ladies Tour in Gennep, Netherlands. After an aggressive start to the stage, Lisa Klein and Hannah Barnes represented CANYON//SRAM Racing in the main breakaway of the day.
Barnes, who is returning from a broken collarbone six weeks ago, said she is enjoying finding her “race legs” again.
“It was a good stage. It was really aggressive with a lot of early attacks. The main break had both Lisa and I in it, so that was a good situation for our team,” said Barnes.
“In the last kilometres I was tired so I did my best to cover solo moves that came from our group, but when the peloton caught us I had nothing left,” said Barnes.
“I’m slowly starting to feel like myself again. It’s not the easiest race to use to get your race fitness back but I’m feeling better each day!”
The former British road champion won the Most Combative rider for the day. Her teammate, Elena Cecchini, was our best placed rider, 11th on the stage.
