Final stage at Festival Elsy Jacobs

Yesterday’s final stage of Ceratizit Festival Elsy Jacobs in Garnich, Luxembourg finished in a bunch sprint despite the best efforts of team leaders Mikayla Harvey and Elise Chabbey. The final stage, and overall classification was won by Emma Norsgaard (MOV), with Mikayla and Elise finishing fourteenth and sixteenth respectively.

“Yesterday’s stage gives me mixed feelings actually. I’m happy with how we raced. The whole team raced together even better than on stage one, so that was nice,” explained Elise.

“Towards the end of the race, Mikayla and I really tried several times to attack. The circuit was not really hard enough to be able to get away. We were active and we tried our best to not let it come to a sprint finish, but in the end it was a sprint. That is the part that is disappointing and gives the mixed feelings about the stage.”

After already racing 16 days in the 2021 season, Elise will take a small break before returning to racing later this month.

“Now I have a small rest, just 2-3 days off the bike actually. The plan is to come back to race with the team in Spain at Burgos. I’m super motivated after the spring races. I know that I can help the team, and that I can be up there and amongst the best riders. I’m sure that this aggressive riding will pay off one day,” added Elise.
