CANYON//SRAM ZONDACRYPTO ANNOUNCES NEW LEGACY TEAM

CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto, already home to both a UCI Women’s WorldTeam and Continental team, is excited to announce the creation of CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto Legacy – a third squad designed to harness and celebrate the enduring athletic talent of staff members who once raced professionally.

At the start of 2026, the organisation reached its tenth anniversary, a decade underpinned by performance, innovation and a steadfast commitment to #TakeTheLead. These values were evident in 2022 with the launch of CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto Generation, a dedicated pathway for emerging talent, focused on riders from underrepresented nations. Now in its fifth year, Generation continues to nurture the next wave of professional cyclists.

With CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto Legacy, the team now turns its attention inward, recognising the currently under-utilised potential of its well-seasoned staff. From 2027 onwards, these Legacy athletes will have a carefully curated racing programme, designed to complement their existing roles while providing a structured outlet to maximise physical capabilities.

The inaugural Legacy roster includes Gosia Jasinska, 4x Polish National Road Race Champion and World Championship top-5 finisher, now serving as Generation team manager. On the men’s side, Rolf Aldag – Director of Sport by day, Legacy rider by afternoon – brings the know-how from 21 professional victories, including stages at Tour de Suisse and the Deutschland Tour. The squad is boosted hugely by the legendary Erik Zabel – Canyon Pro Sports Manager and honorary WorldTeam staff member, whose remarkable palmares features 4x Milan-Sanremo victories and 12x Tour de France stage wins.

In contrast to Aldag’s 2005 retirement, the most recently retired team member is current mechanic Łukasz Owsian, who raced in 2025 for Continental team Mazowsze Serce Polski and previously for Team Arkéa Samsic.

With Legacy, CANYON//SRAM zondacrypto ensures that experience, resilience and proven abilities continue to thrive out on the road. Head of Sport Adam Szabó put it so perfectly: “talent simply matures, it never disappears.”

We’re ready to celebrate these accomplished performers, and April Fools’ Day… both proof that some things never truly fade.
