A SOLID SIXTH FOR CHLOÉ DYGERT AT CLASSIC LORIENT AGGLOMÈRATION
It wasn’t quite a repeat of Chloé Dygert’s podium performance at the 2024 Classic Lorient Agglomération – Ceratizit, nor a result the ambitiously driven American would call remarkable, but it was nonetheless a strong ride, earning her sixth in a reduced bunch sprint.
Bretagne’s never-flat terrain and twisting, rolling roads once again produced a punishing race, with wet, cooler conditions adding an extra layer of challenge to this year’s edition.
Numerous breakaways ebbed and flowed over the 165km race, including a sizeable early move of 23 riders featuring Nastya Kolesava for the team, which held a gap of nearly three minutes with 94km remaining. Two highly animated 12km closing laps around Plouay ultimately brought a group of 21 together to contest the final sprint.
Chloé found herself at the very rear of this group in the final 3km, even as the group flew past the flamme rouge on the gradual downhill drag into the finishing straight. Chloé launched an impressive sprint from last position to pass the majority of the peloton, narrowly missing a top-five finish.
With her 2025 season now complete with the team, she turns her focus to the UCI Road World Championships in Rwanda at the end of September and Chile’s UCI Track World Championships in late October. Today’s challenging one-day race in Bretagne will hopefully serve as a valuable training waypoint on the path toward these bigger tests.
